MAGAZINE SECOND DRAFTS.

Throughout the development of my final drafts, I improved my contents page completely and added different photographs.

< 1st draft - final draft >

Within the above magazine drafts, I have tried to base the house style of similar aspects for example; black border, orange elements and white writing. Since my last drafts, I have additionally added improved quality of photographs taken with a canon camera these were taken in front of a black back screen to darken the elements of the photographs. The theme of my drafts illuminate the similarities of the magazine company billboard as i have used them to inspire the production of my magazine for example they use colours insinuated within their photographs for the rest of their magazine. The familiar look of each page shares a professional theme within the magazine production almost like a sleek motif behind it. The introduction of one bright, vivid colour illustrates the idea behind the Indie pop genre.

DOUBLE PAGE COMMENTARY

CONTENTS PAGE COMMENTARY

With my contents page, the layout is quite simple yet I think I created this and made it quite effective as the colours are generic once again and it reinforces the effect of my chosen house style for my ideal genre of music which is Indie Pop! and links with my target audience in a direct sense.

FRONT PAGE WITH COMMENTARY

The following codes and conventions appeal to my target audience as my magazine front cover is initially quite generic situated within the colour scheme and the band logos involved aren't gender domained music genre bands. As well the connotations I have made I have tried to focus on both the male and female demographic.

DOUBLE PAGE ARTICLE

The following text is the article in which I wrote myself for my double page spread addressing the artist in which I used to appeal to my target audience. I tried making the text conventional to my target audience by using vocabulary that they would use in every day life and I tried appealing to them through stereotypes of young people such as gossip or romance life details as I think this appears interesting to many ages and can attract them easier towards reading the article. What still needs to be improved is the detail of the writing, as I think my writing lacked detail considering the target audience would be both male and female ideally, but also slightly more attractive towards the female demographic.

November was the month of ‘The 1975’ leaving every fan starving for more. But this February we all have an insatiable appetite for who will be the next big thing! No better person than the rising indie-pop artist featured on the front cover;Rosetta. The challenge we attempt to address within this article is finding out musical gossip from this artist, and disclosing information about her future albums and gigs. So stop, sit back and digest the following content which is exclusively just for you! One of the standout sessions which she previously participated in was The Festival in London, which depicted many famous talents whom she sung beside, Adorn has also been told by unknown sources that Rosetta started of the gig singing her new single; Karma. We’ve also been told by an unknown source that the artist wasn’t alone that weekend, she was joined by the drummer of ‘Imagine dragons’ what a minx! The invitation was cryptic, show up at the festival of music and leave with the festival of love! Lust, love and lyrics come to mind? Many love stories begin with the sound of music am I right?

Rosetta recently told Adorn that she was working on something new to go with her new single Karma, she said it was inspired by an ex -saucy we think yes! Maybe she’s been kindling with pop star Taylor Swift and getting advice about writing songs about exes, obviously she wasn’t too affected being seen leaving with The drummer from ‘Imagine dragons’ but let's just wait patiently and hope this song is as good as the last. Lately she’s been featured in many articles due to her work with models who have taken part in her latest music video for Karma which was located in the busy city of London, the models were seen in long coats surrounding the artist as she sung, quite classy we think. Rosetta claims that she wanted to film her music video in Tokyo but the modelling company which represented the models refused to send them over for her to use in the video, she says she really wanted to use the girls for the recording and decided to compromise settling on the location of London! Who wouldn’t be pleased right London over Tokyo? How exciting, the models must of been so thrilled.

The artist is also soon to be seen or rather we say heard, singing and talking through our speakers in our car on Radio 1. She’s been blessing the mornings with her newest single “Karma” which she released a couple of days ago. We all here would gladly listen to her sing on a stormy monday morning coming into work with our hair all rattled with rain and our coats soaked through! Close by the festival timings which we saw her perform, we got given the opportunity to ask her a few quick questions in which she answered the following;

Q: Since when did you know you wanted to become a pop star sensation?
This may sound cliche but since I was a young girl I always wanted to be the next big thing you know? It was always singing or being on stage, either one I would've gladly taken the opportunity.

Q: What made you think of your songs name “Karma”?
Well, the story behind that song is it’s written about one of my past relationships and we all love the sight of Karma, right?

Q: Have you recently been involved with anyone? Perhaps a certain drummer at a festival..
Haha, Never listen to gossip magazines sometimes they get things wrong. Me and him are honestly just good friends and we wouldn’t sabotage that.

Q: When do we all get the honor of buying your new album?
The end of february actually! Lets just say it’s worth the wait, there will be twelve songs and three of them feature two other artists.

Q: Is it safe to say, you’ll be a judge on next seasons series of “The Voice”?
Yes, that's correct actually. The producer got in touch with me and offered me the chance, and like anyone else who's not mad I took it. I’ll be beside the three other main judges and I’ll be supporting my own upcoming artists which i’m so excited about.

HAND-DRAWN DESIGN OF MAGAZINE

These are examples of a hand drawn plan I completed for the planning process of my media product. This was needed in the planning of my work as this helped me idealise what my magazine should and could look like. However this wasn't my exact layout of my magazine this was just a guideline to follow so I was not lost whilst in the creation of my media product.

This was a drawn idea of how my double page would look like, using photographs and my own written article draft. The codes and conventions of which I used to solidify my hand-drawn template was the following: I included areas for writing with included gutters to space out my text to appear more clear for the audience to be appealed to and read. I also analysed which colours I would like to use to make my magazine generic and suit both male and female audiences.
